Fransien Bal, Fabuleux

Drawings

During her recent journey in Asia Fransien Bal has collected the sounds of different languages. Fransien used her artist residency at Ne’-Na Contemporary Art Space in Chiang Mai, Thailand, to transform these sounds into the series of drawings ‘Found Languages’, that represent the rise and fall of languages.

Tekeningen

Concert
In co-operation with filmmaker Michiel Keller Fransien Bal has recorded the responces in sound of various people to the drawings ‘Found Languages’. Genetic Choir has used samples of these recordings to create a surprising dynamic concertsystem, ‘Loop-Copy-Mutate concert’.
